Moving to Spring Hill, TN? Here are 5 Things You Should Know

Thinking about moving to Spring Hill, Tennessee? Well, you're in the right place! Whether you're relocating from out of state or just looking for a change of pace, in this video, I'll cover everything you need to know before making Spring Hill your new home. Let's dive in!

Cost of Living

Spring Hill's cost of living index is about 105 (where 100 is the national average). This means it is about 5% higher than the national average but still affordable. However, it is still considered more affordable than many major cities nationwide. For example, the cost of living score in California or New York ranges from 170-200 depending on the area you are living in.

Spring Hill Cost of Living Index is 105.

Spring Hill is divided up into two counties.

It's important to know that Spring Hill is in two different counties, Williamson and Maury. So, if you want to be in the Williamson County school district, ensure your home searches are set up only to show those homes.

Williamson County is highly desirable, so the cost of those homes will be significantly higher than those in Maury County. To demonstrate, I pulled up homes in both areas of Spring Hill. On the W.C. side, the median home price right now (Aug 2024) is $740,000, while in Maury County, the median price is $529,945.

I also thought it was interesting that the median sales price has gone by $90,000 in one year. That should tell you how popular Spring Hill has become.

Spring Hill has some fantastic options depending on what you're looking for. If you would like a list of homes that fit your criteria, let us know, and we can send those to you.

Healthcare: When discussing the job market in Middle Tennessee, you always want to mention the Healthcare industry. Nashville, Tennessee, is home to one of the finest Medical Universities in the southeastern United States: Vanderbilt University. The University and the series of hospitals and medical facilities attached to it make the entire area an amazing place to live when you desire the best healthcare you can receive. The combination of national chains and locally-owned businesses has helped meet the needs of the growing population, making it a convenient and vibrant place to live and work. As Spring Hill continues to develop, these industries will likely expand further, attracting more residents and visitors.

Construction and Real Estate: With population growth, the construction and real estate sectors are booming, offering jobs in homebuilding, development, and real estate sales.

Because of the rapid growth in Spring Hill, it has maintained a relatively low unemployment rate, often lower than the national average, due to the influx of businesses and proximity to Nashville's job market.

One thing to keep in mind when relocating is the traffic. Spring Hill is about 35 miles from Nashville, and during rush hour, the commute can take up to an hour. But the good news? If you're working locally, traffic here isn't bad, and you'll find it easy to get around the city.

As remote work has become more common, many Spring Hill residents work for companies based in Nashville or even out of state, allowing them to live in a more affordable, suburban area while still accessing larger job markets.

If you want to live close enough to Nashville to be able to go out for a night in the town on the weekend and don't mind driving, then Spring Hill might work well for you.
